Welcome 5th Graders!!!
What adaptations will the 5th Graders need to develop in order to thrive here at SGS? The 5th Grade students were asked this question and challenged to create a bird mask where their adaptations were symbolized. For some, this meant big ears to symbolize better listening, and for others this meant bright colors as a symbol for being outgoing and making new friends. Every student developed personal adaptations to help them thrive. This was truly an innovative group that took this project to a new level with wild beak designs, glitter, and vibrant colors.
Process:
First the girls partnered up to plaster wrap each others' faces. Truly a communal bonding experience as they pushed their comfort zones, slathered their faces with vaseline, and layered plastered gauze.
